What is Waste Not AZ?

Waste Not Arizona is an organization that helps provide food for families in need. 1 out of 6 children in Arizona go to bed hungry every night. And we can help! Every year we donate meals to this charity to help combat food hunger. You can be a part of this by donating in the “donate meals” product on the website. For every $5 donated, we donate a meal to this charity! We are looking to expand our last meal donation (858 meals) to our goal of 1000 meals for Thanksgiving 2024! You can participate by donating during October and November of 2024!

How do you store your food?

All meals are cooked fresh on Sundays and last in the fridge for 5-7 days. They can be reheated or eaten cold. These meals are best eaten fresh but you can choose to freeze them.

If freezing - pull the meal out the day before eating and thaw in your fridge overnight. On the day of eating, microwave the meal before consuming. Would not recommend this for any salads. Message us for recommendations on which items freeze the best.

Why choose meal prep?

So many benefits for using meal prep!!

Our biggest: Meal prep saves you so much time throughout the week! It’s convenient for delivery, you pick and select what you order and they are always healthy & balanced meals so you can let go of any guilt & prevent eating out. And also reduce stress and not have to figure out what to make for meals. & it reduces food waste (we all have those veggies that look at us that we push to the back of the fridge)! PLUS you don’t have to do dishes :-P

Where is your kitchen?

All food production is out of a commercial kitchen called BLT Kitchens on Dunlap and 7th Ave. We use safe food handling techniques, sanitize, and clean all surfaces prior to using them. We follow county guidelines and operate under a county permit and are Serv Safe Certified.

Do you offer diet varieties?

Each dish displayed on the menu will show what customizations are available. Dishes on the menu will indicate whether they are gluten free, dairy free, etc. We do not allow for customizations to menu items.

The kitchen that we cook out of is not considered a “gluten free” kitchen - so there are trace particles in the air (this would be similar to you walking through a grocery store but for liability, we do want to disclose this for our gluten free friends). ‘

Do you have pickup locations?

We sell our meals inside of Air Guitar! They are a local convenience store in Gilbert and receives deliveries from us on Sunday & Wednesday evenings!

They do sell out so check them out early!

Maybe we’ll be in other places soon :)

Do you recommend the insulated cooler bags?

We highly recommend the purchase of an insulated cooler bag! For a one time charge of $10, your meals will arrive at your home in an insulated cooler bag. Each week, leave your empty cooler bags outside or give them to the driver ahead of your next delivery. These bags will be inspected and cleaned upon return. This is an effort to help reduce wastage of bags. We can take and resume ice packs back as well!

Do you reuse containers?

No. We will not take back containers.

You can reuse and recycle the containers! This is a big food safety concern to bring back and re-use containers so much that it’s against federal guidelines for production.

Here are some fun ways to reuse containers:

Use as a pot for a plant!

Use for your kid’s science project.

Keep in your car & collect loose change.

Organize your drawers.

Clean & use for leftovers for parties.

Always recycle if possible! ♻️
